About Anti-Wrinkle Injections with Cosmeticine
Botox or Azzalure are the trade names for a toxin called Botulinum that is produced by a bacteria. This toxin first used in 1978 to weaken the overactive muscles of eyes by Ophthalmologists. Since 1990, this toxin is commercially produced and used for treating (weakening) specific muscles of the face and neck which are contracting too much (hyper functional) and have caused wrinkles or lines on the face and neck.
This toxin, in very diluted amounts, is injected directly into the muscles. Toxin start to weaken muscle activity in about 2-3 days and shows maximum effect in 1-2 weeks. The resultant weakness, however, is temporary, as the new growth of nerves will re-innervate the muscles.
